Ginger is a 40+ year resident of the greater Westhampton Beach area.  Please click on the village of interest to you for Ginger's inside look at each of these extraordinary communities.

Westhampton Beach

You see them crawling along Sunrise Highway heading east - throngs of minivans and SUVs, the latest European sports cars, engines revving as they inch along in bumper-to-bumper traffic. How frustrating it must be as they pass the first Hamptons exit to Westhampton Beach, and watch as some of their fellow migrants turn off, picking up speed as they go. "If we lived here, we'd be home by now," must be their unspoken sentiment, as they adjust rearview mirrors, fiddle with iPods, and resign themselves to another two to three hours on the road.

Westhampton Dunes

The newest member of the Hamptons community is the village of Westhampton Dunes, located on the westernmost point of the Dune Road barrier island, just outside the village of Westhampton Beach.

Quogue
Indeed, while strolling Quogue Street, the village's main thoroughfare, one can imagine what the village looked like at the turn of the century. Quogue Street, anchored on both ends by two small and beautifully designed chapels (Anglican on the western end, Presbyterian on the eastern), is lined with stately trees, quiet sidewalks, and lovely homes that date from the late 19th century.

Remsenburg

Among the most charming and picturesque locales in the Hamptons is the hamlet of Remsenburg. Walk your dog along its main street, South Country Road, and you might be forgiven for mistaking it for Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. Such is the colonial elegance of the place, that this tiny community has become one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in all of the Hamptons.
